Who we are
Lenham Meadows Trust is a charitable organisation registered with the Charity Commission (number 1176004). The Trust was set up in 2017 to promote the conservation of the natural environment of the parish of Lenham. The Trust is managed by a group of Trustees (all residents of Lenham) and volunteers who meet on a regular basis.
Our vision
We want to provide or assist in the provision of open spaces for residents and visitors to enjoy. We hope to encourage people to get involved with us in protecting the biodiversity of our local area and preserving the countryside around Lenham for generations to come.
Our aims
- To take into the Trust’s management the open spaces and land available from future development sites, working with local councils and developers to protect our green spaces.
- To manage and protect any open space land or property gifted to the Trust.
- To purchase or lease areas of land when available, to use as buffer zones to protect the historic setting of Lenham village and the surrounding parishes.
- To enhance and protect our flora and fauna, and ancient woodland.
- To protect and improve the access of footpaths for all visitors to Trust lands and integrate new footpaths as a result of future development.
Sponsors and supporters
We’re grateful to the following local businesses and organisations for the support and assistance that they give to us, as we all work together to protect green spaces for our community.
